Robert NorrellUT Knoxville history professor Robert J. Norrell was featured in recent issues of the Wall Street Journal and the New Yorker Magazine for his book  “Up from History: The Life of Booker T. Washington.”

The Wall Street journal printed an excerpt from the book in its Jan. 22, 2009, issue.

The Feb. 2, 2009, issue of New Yorker Magazine discusses recent books about African-American leader Booker T. Washington, and features Norrell’s book.
