UT Researcher Talks about Sustainability and Technology at Centripetals Lunch
KNOXVILLE — Paul Frymier, an associate professor of chemical engineering at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, will discuss some of the major environmental issues facing our world as a result of human existence and technology at the University Studies Program’s Centripetals Luncheon at noon on Wednesday, Feb. 18.
Frymier — whose lecture is titled “Sustainability and Technology, Are They Compatible?” — will talk about whether a reversal of the effects of global climate change, water and other resource problems and environmental degradation by pollution can be achieved in order to leave the planet at least as clean as it was found. In addition, he will talk about his own research on the development of a process to convert solar energy to hydrogen, potentially for use as a transportation fuel.
The Centripetals Luncheon — open to scholars, researchers and interested members of the Knoxville community — is a monthly affair held in the University Center Executive Dining Room. Cost for lunch is $8, payable at the door.
