Enjoy ‘A Taste of Tango’ Wednesday
The UT Knoxville School of Music presents Piazzolla Night: A Taste of Tango, 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 1, in the School of Music Hall. The event is free and open to the public.
The program will feature music by the Argentine tango composer and bandoneón player, Astor Piazzolla. His works have an Argentine flair that combine elements of tango, jazz and classical music.
Double-bassist and composer/arranger Joel DiBartolo has arranged many of the pieces featured in the program for the UT Knoxville faculty and guest artist chamber ensemble, including Miroslav Hristov (violin), Hillary Herndon (viola), Mary Beadell-DiBartolo (cello), Joel DiBartolo (double bass), and Patrick Harvey (piano).
Guests who are moved by the music are welcome to get up and do their own tango!
