Kickoff to Commencement 2009

Kickoff to Commencement 2009

Kickoff to Commencement is set for Tuesday, May 5, at the Thompson-Boling Arena. The event is held to honor all spring and summer graduates and officially begins the week of commencement ceremonies and activities.

A committee of students and staff has been working diligently to plan this event so that it will be fun for all graduates, families and friends.

The evening will begin at 6 p.m. at the Torchbearer with the Aloha Oe ceremony, which is planned by the Student Government Association. The candlelight ceremony for seniors signifies their continuing journey and reminds them of their pledge to serve the university and their community. All graduates are encouraged to participate in this meaningful ceremony.

After the ceremony, the program and concert will begin at 7 p.m. at the Arena. Food will be provided for the graduates. Concession vendors will be open for families and other guests. After a short program, Sister Hazel will perform.

We hope you’ll make plans to attend this special event and honor our 2009 graduates.
