“I’m pleased to announce the selection of Margie Nichols as vice chancellor for communications for the Knoxville campus,” says UT Knoxville Chancellor Jimmy G. Cheek.

“As you may know, Margie has served in a variety of roles in public administration and the news media over the years, including serving as interim vice chancellor for communications since September 2008.

“Margie has done an outstanding job in helping represent UT Knoxville to its internal and external audiences, including local and state government, the news media and the general public, and I’m confident she will continue to do so for many years to come. Please join me in congratulating her.

“I also want to thank the chair of the search committee, UT College of Communication and Information Dean Mike Wirth, for the work he and the committee members put into this search process.”
