Tennessean: Vandy’s New Top Cop Joins Force

August Washington, whose 30-year law enforcement career has included service at UT Knoxville and five other universities, was recently named Vanderbilt University’s police chief and an assistant vice chancellor. As chief, Washington, 49, will oversee a staff of over 130 people, including 115 officers.
