Test of UT ALERT System Scheduled

On Friday, August 28th, the university will be testing the UT ALERT text messaging system and a related feature that has been added to our emergency communication abilities.

At around 4 p.m., we will send all UT ALERT subscribers a text and/or message (depending upon information provided by the subscribers) and activate the new loudspeaker capability of the newly upgraded “blue light” phones.

Because the university is upgrading the “blue light” phones in phases, only a portion will activate a loudspeaker and blue light during the test.

The test is just one in a series planned for this semester as the university adds several new emergency communication tools.

To sign up to receive UT ALERT messages via text message and/or email go to http://www.utk.edu/utalert/.
