Despite the rain, Wednesday’s UT Safety Day was well-attended with many students, faculty and staff stopping by tents set up across campus to learn about all aspects of staying safe on and off campus.

Employees from the Office of Student Affairs and UT Police Department officers were on hand to help students, faculty and staff sign up for UT ALERT, the campus’ emergency text messaging system; register personal property and have it engraved; and learn about campus resources such as the T:Link and T:Late Nite for getting around safely.

Health also was addressed, as volunteers handed out hand sanitizer and spread the word that the seasonal flu vaccine will be given out 11 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 16, in the University Center Ballroom. Shots will cost $20.
