Witek Nazarewicz is a distinguished theorist with broad expertise in nuclear physics and computational many-body problem. He specializes in nuclear theory and nuclear structure. Nazarewicz is listed by ISI among the most highly cited in physics. Dr. Nazarewicz is a fellow of American Association for the Advancement of Science, American Physical Society, and Institute of Physics in the UK. He received honorary degree of Doctor of the University of the West of Scotland, UK, and he is a visiting professor at UWS.
Nazarewicz also is the scientific director of the Holifield Radioactive Ion Beam Facility at Oak Ridge National Laboratory, producing high quality beams of short-lived, radioactive nuclei for studies of exotic nuclei and astrophysics research and societal applications.
