UT Alumnus Earns Aerospace Honor

UT Knoxville Aerospace & Defense MBA alumnus Tim Gray earned the prestigious AVIATION WEEK Laureate Award for process improvements at Hill Air Force Base. The Laureate Awards were given at a ceremony held March 17 in Washington, D.C.

Facility Services Department Introduces "One Call" Program

In an effort to expand availability and increase its level of customer service, the UT Knoxville Facilities Services department has launched the Facilities One Call program. Beginning today, members of the campus community can call one phone number, 24 hours a day, any day of the year and speak live with a Facilities Services representative. The number is 946-7777, or 6-7777 if you are calling from a campus phone.

College of Communication and Information to Host Diversity Banquet April 9

The College of Communication and Information will hold its annual Experience Diversity Banquet, 7 p.m. Friday, April 9, at the Bearden Banquet Hall, 5806 Kingston Pike, in Knoxville. The keynote speaker is Phyllis Y. Nichols, president and CEO of the Knoxville Area Urban League. Nichols also will be presented with the 2010 College of Communication and Information Diversity Award.

Ready for the World Cafe Gears Up for Spring

Spring is officially in the air this week at the Ready for the World Café. This week's menu includes chicken cacciatore, shredded pork with roasted tomatoes and chilies, steamed salmon with lemon and olive oil, twice baked sweet potatoes, grilled asparagus with barbecue butter, sweet and bitter green salad with vinaigrette dressing and grilled vegetable gazpacho. This week's theme is spring fling, so break out your shorts and sun dresses.

In the News: Local students, parents speak out on bullying in schools

In this WATE-TV story about the Massachusetts bullying case where nine students have been charged in the death of a high school freshman, Dr. David Dupper, an associate professor in the College of Social Work at UT Knoxville, talks about adults as role models for children and the effect of children who come from homes with bullying behaviors.
