Died January 17, 2009 in Sandy Springs, GA.

Peters earned her BS from the University of Tennessee and her M.Ed. from the University of Memphis. She earned her Education Specialist for Learning Disabilities and Administration from West Georgia College. A life-long teacher and advocate for LD children, after teaching in Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, and Florida, she settled with her family in Sandy Springs in 1971. She worked with the Cobb County School System as an admired and respected educator, administrator, and finally the Supervisor of Special Education Programs until her retirement. Peters received her bachelor’s degree from the College of Education, Health and Human Sciences.
