Died January 2, 2009 in Greenville, NC.

Martin founded the Greenville Duplicate Bridge Club in 1948. She directed and taught bridge in the Greenville area for more than 57 years. In 1991 she was honored as National Goodwill Player of the Year by the American Contract Bridge League. She received her bachelor’s degree (1938) and master’s degree (1940) from the College of Arts and Sciences.
