Riggs was a lifelong educator and taught in the Knox County School System for 12 years before moving to Charlotte in 1983. She was a homemaker for 20 years, and for the past four years she taught at inner city elementary schools in the Charlotte area. Vicky loved teaching and working with underprivileged children. She received her bachelor’s degree from the College of Education, Health and Human Sciences.
