Alumni and Friends Learn Lawn Care
Mar 9th, 2009 • Category: Lifelong LearningA crowd of 90 alumni and friends attended a recent program on lawn care on the UT Agriculture campus. Professors Jim Brosnan and Tom Samples gave presentations on turf grass and weed control and answered a wide variety of questions about how to get the most out of one’s lawn.
Brosnan is the head of the Turfgrass Weed Science Research and Extension Program at the University of Tennessee. Samples, a professor in UT’s Plant Sciences Department, is the turfgrass specialist of the Tennessee Extension Service.
This Lifelong Learning program was the first in a two-part series. The second part will be “Gardening 101” and will occur later in March.
