Painting the Towns Orange
Jun 9th, 2009 • Category: Young Alumni
UT Young Alumni from across the Southeast converged to “paint the towns orange” in Charlotte and Atlanta in May.
In Charlotte, area alumni gathered at Blackfinn in the Epicentre area of downtown Charlotte. Alive After 5 was in full effect as alumni mixed and mingled in their own private area of Blackfinn for a reception to reconnect and discuss other upcoming programs in the area.
A week later, alumni gathered on the CityScape Patio area of Turner Field for a pregame reception and dinner before enjoying premium block seating to watch the Braves take on the Colorado Rockies. A special treat came a few innings into the game as UT’s own Todd Helton hit his 2,001st hit as a Major League Baseball player. The hit was a three-run homerun that had Braves fans yelling, but left our Vol section excited!
Upcoming events are scheduled for Knoxville, Washington, D.C., and Nashville. In addition, additional events in Memphis, Atlanta, and Charlotte are being planned, so be sure to check http://alumni.utk.edu often for updates and details.
Thanks to all 52,000 Young Alumni who have in one way or another supported the Big Orange!
