The Knox County UT Alumni Chapter is hosting the Knox County Welcome Back Barbecue Friday, August 7, at 5 p.m. at Thompson-Boling Arena.

This annual event will help kick off the football season in Knoxville and allow Vol fans to show their support for the 2009 football team. Bob Kesling, the Voice of the Vols, will be the emcee for the evening, with special guests including head coach Lane Kiffin, other representatives of the football coaching staff, and the 2009 Tennessee football team.

“This is going to be a great time for Vol fans and families to come out and meet the coaches of the University of Tennessee football team,” Robert Schwalb, Knox County Chapter president, said. “The Welcome Back Barbecue is always a great event and a chance for fans to show their support.”

The doors will open at 5 p.m. and the program will begin at 7 p.m. Tickets are $12 for adults and $8 for children, which includes barbecue with all of the fixings. The deadline for pre-registration is Friday, July 31. After July 31 the price goes up to $15 for adults and $10 for children.
