Died September 29, 2009, in Raleigh, NC. Dot attended Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri for two years, worked for the U.S. Corps of Engineers in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, and then attended the University of Tennessee, graduating in 1949. During the 1950’s she and her husband lived in Champaign-Urbana, Illinois where Dot worked in the Engineering Library at the University of Illinois and in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, where Dot worked for the School of Nursing at the University of North Carolina. In 1959 her family moved to the Raleigh area and she worked for Wake County Public Schools and Wake County SPCA. She had a lifelong love of music and was an accomplished pianist. Dot received her bachelor’s degree from the College of Home Economics.
