Mrs. Peters, of Villa Rica, Georgia, died October 3, 2009. She was a graduate of Shorter College in Rome, Georgia, where she achieved a double major in vocal performance and music education. Mrs. Peters later graduated from the University of Tennessee with a master’s degree from the College of Arts and Sciences. She worked as a music teacher at Turner Middle School with the Douglas County School System and was currently teaching music at McGarity Elementary School in Paulding County. While at Turner Middle School and under her leadership and direction, her group of students was selected to perform at Disney World in Florida.
