William Duncan Graham, of Winston Salem, North Carolina, died September 29, 2009. He was a graduate of Winthrop Training School in Rock Hill, South Carolina and Clemson University. Upon graduation, he was commissioned 2nd Lieutenant in the U.S. Army and served for two years. Following his military service, Bill graduated from the University of Tennessee, receiving his master’s degree from the College of Home Economics. His 37 year career in the textile industry was with Hanes Knitwear/Sarah Lee. Bill shared his enthusiasm for literature by tutoring with the YMCA Adult Literacy Program and wrote extensively in his retirement.
