James A. Stanfield, of Atlanta, GA, died October 26, 2006. He was a graduate of the University of Tennessee, receiving his master’s degree (1942) and his doctor’s degree (1947) from the College of Arts and Sciences. He was a professor of chemistry at the Georgia Institute of Technology for 37 years.
