Embree M. Kennedy, of Phoenix, AZ, died January 12, 2010. He was born in Brazil, the son of American missionary parents. The family moved to Memphis, Tennessee following his father’s retirement. Mr. Kennedy was a graduate of the University of Tennessee, receiving his bachelor’s degree from the College of Engineering. After graduation he spent a year working in Roanoke, Virginia before joining the Corps of Engineers in WWII. When the war ended he was hired to work in the General Motors plant in Brazil. He was transferred to GMC in Pontiac, Michigan then progressively to Mexico, Brazil, South Africa, England and finally back to the U.S. before he retired in 1981.
