Sarah “Sally” Baird Campbell, of Memphis, died December 5, 2009. She earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Tennessee, College of Education, Health and Human Sciences. Following graduation she worked for Delta Airlines in Boston. Sally received her certification in the American Montessori Society training program at Temple University in Philadelphia in 1976. She returned to Memphis and worked as a Montessori teacher at Lausanne School. In 1981 she opened her own preschool and put into practice her unique blend of educational philosophy and teaching skills. In 2007 she authored a book entitled “Developing the Whole Child.”
