Edgar “Ed” Wadsworth Hodges, of Nashville, died February 16, 2010. Ed worked for Ford Motor Company, Norfolk, Virginia, before being drafted into the U.S. Army in 1951. His troop was shipped to Sonthofen, Germany, where he achieved rank of Corporal. In 1953 he separated from the Army and immediately joined the Army Reserve of Norfolk. He found a need to be back in the field and re-entered the Army as Sergeant in 1955. Between 1958 and his retirement from the Army in 1973, he was assigned 3 tours of duty in Germany, Korea, 2 in Vietnam, Santa Domingo, and the Panama Canal. Following the Army, he and his family settled in Nashville where he began teaching at NADC. He received his bachelor’s degree (1981) and his master’s degree (1985) from the University of Tennessee, College of Education, Health and Human Sciences.
