Emily Dempster Hurst, of Knoxville, died February 21, 2010. She received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Tennessee, College of Education, Health and Human Sciences. As a Knox County school teacher, Emily first taught at West Side Christian Academy, then Sunny View Elementary School and then at South Doyle Middle School.
