Thelbert “T.J.” Hicks, of Maryville, died June 5, 2011. He was a graduate of the University of Tennessee with a bachelor’s degree from the College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources and was retired from the U.S. Department of Agriculture after 33 years of service.
