Thomas Davis “Tommy” Bridges (1929) pitched for the Detroit Tigers and for Portland, Seattle, and San Francisco. He was named to the American League All Star staff six times in the 1930s.

Bobby Dodd attended UT from 1928 to 1930. He was a football All America in 1930 and was head coach at Georgia Tech from 1945 to 1966. He is a member of the National Football Foundation’s College Football Hall of Fame as both a player and coach.
