Thomas Davis “Tommy” Bridges (1929) pitched for the Detroit Tigers and for Portland, Seattle, and San Francisco. He was named to the American League All Star staff six times in the 1930s.

Edith Evans Asbury (1924) began a 52-year journalism career in 1929. She served on the staff of the Cincinnati Times Star, The Knoxville News Sentinel, The New York Post, Collier’s, the New York World Telegram and Sun, and for 29 years, The New York Times.

Bobby Dodd attended UT from 1928 to 1930. He was a football All America in 1930 and was head coach at Georgia Tech from 1945 to 1966. He is a member of the National Football Foundation’s College Football Hall of Fame as both a player and coach.

Died February 9, 2008 in Knoxville.
Wimmer worked at UT shortly after graduation. She was an active member of the Episcopal and Methodist churches. She graduated from the College of Arts and Sciences.
