William B. Eldridge, of Winston Salem, NC, died February 9, 2011. He was a graduate of the University of Tennessee with a bachelor’s degree (1952) from the College of Business Administration and a doctor’s degree (1951) from the College of Law.

James G. Reavis, of Leoma, TN, died July 20, 2011. He graduated from the University of Tennessee with a bachelor’s degree from the College of Engineering.

Frank Boring, Jr., of Alcoa, TN, died December 12, 2011. Mr. Boring earned a master’s degree from the University of Tennessee, College of Education, Health and Human Sciences and played on the 1951 UT National Championship Football Team. He served his country in the U.S. army and was an educator and coach by profession.

Ray Barton, of Seneca, SC, died November 11, 2011. Ray served in the U.S. Air Force for two years and graduated from the University of Tennessee with a bachelor’s degree from the College of Business Administration. His professional career was in the financial industry, from which he retired in 1988.

Marion Lewis Picklesimer, of Munford, AL, died November 20, 2011. After service in WWII, he earned a master’s degree (1951) and a doctor’s degree (1954) from the University of Tennessee, College of Engineering. Susie Frances Whitener, of Newton, NC, died November 27, 2011. She was a graduate of the University of Tennessee with a master’s degree from the College of Arts and Sciences. She held faculty positions at Rutherfordton-Spindale High School, Mississippi State College for Women, Appalachian State Teachers College, Florida State University, and Georgia Southern College.

John Fredrick Clark, of Maryville, TN, died November 23, 2011. He earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Tennessee, College of Business Administration.

William Orth Simmons, of Decatur, died November 25, 2011. He earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Tennessee, College of Engineering, was a U.S. Army veteran who served in Korea, and a retired aerospace engineer who worked for Hayes Aircraft and NASA.

Hubert B. Jackson, Jr., of Franklin, TN, died September 17, 2011. A graduate of the University of Tennessee, he earned a bachelor’s degree from the College of Business Administration. He served in the U.S. Army Finance Corp. for three years and was a retired Certified Financial Examiner.

Robert B. Underwood, of Knoxville, died November 17, 2011. He graduated from the University of Tennessee with a bachelor’s degree (1951) and a master’s degree (1954) both from the College of Education, Health and Human Sciences. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1951 to 1953 and had a professional career in education.
