Maurice H. Field, of Martin, TN, died August 17, 2011. He graduated from the University of Tennessee with a master’s degree (1960) and a doctor’s degree (1982) both from the College of Education, Health and Human Sciences.

William Stephen Hinton, of Jacksonville Beach, FL, died August 10, 2011. He graduated from the University of Tennessee with a bachelor’s degree from the College of Business Administration. He began his professional career at the family owned Post Sign Company and later at Cummings Sign Company. He retired from the sign business in 2004.

Max E. Massengill, of Huntsville, AL, died August 9, 2011. Max was a graduate of the University of Tennessee earning a bachelor’s degree from the College of Engineering. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and a retired electrical engineer for the U.S. Army Missile Command.

J.C. Caudle, of Scottsboro, AL, died September 2, 2010. He graduated from the University of Tennessee with a bachelor’s degree from the College of Engineering.

H. Warren Meyer, of Memphis, died July 30, 2011. He graduated from the University of Tennessee with a bachelor’s degree from the College of Engineering and was a retired regional sales manager for Canam Steel Corporation. Prior to his employment with Canam, he was a sales manager for Pidgeon-Thomas Iron Company for 13 years.

Carl “Coach” Murphy Ellis, Jr., of Lakeland, FL, died July 30, 2011. He attended the University of Tennessee on a football scholarship and graduated with a bachelor’s degree from the College of Business Administration. Following graduation, he coached at UT, Virginia Tech, and Mulberry High School.

Pennell Churchman Painter, III, of Knoxville, died July 26, 2011. He graduated from the University of Tennessee with a bachelor’s degree (1967) and a doctor’s degree (1976) both from the College of Arts and Sciences.

Lou Elizabeth Matthews Beasley, of Nashville, died July 16, 2011.
