First Men’s Outdoor Track and Field National Championship

The men’s outdoor track and field team won its first national championship in 1974 under head coach Stan Huntsman. The team also won national championships in 1991 and 2001. Coach Huntsman led Tennessee for 15 seasons and died in 2016 after coaching at the University of Texas.
