The men’s swimming and diving team won a national championship in 1978 under head coach Ray Bussard. The coach led UT to new heights in program history with an overall record of 252-20 (.926) in 21 seasons. Bussard’s dual meet record of 178-20 (.899) included nine undefeated seasons.
