You Have a Place Here

Campus Life

Volunteers come from all over the globe, which makes it easy for you to find people who understand your passions and dreams. Here at UT, you’ll make discoveries about yourself and the world and have the support to chase your ambitions.

Student life at UT

From clubs to Greek life, art to athletics, UT has everything you need to make this place feel like home sweet home.

Clubs & organizations

Make connections and find your people at UT! We have over 450 clubs and organizations—that’s more than 450 opportunities to get immersed in a community and dig deeper into your interests.

Among these organizations are 47 Greek life chapters, where over a quarter of undergraduate students are involved.

Arts & culture

You won’t have to look too far to find experiences that will make your time at UT exciting! Right here on campus you can attend the theatre, explore a museum, or get creative in maker spaces.

UT’s Office for Campus Culture and Community hosts special events throughout the year—like the annual Stomp Fest—that help foster community on campus.

Athletics & campus events

Game day is a tradition we hold dear on Rocky Top. There’s nothing like breaking out your orange gear and feeling the electricity in the air as you meet up with friends to cheer on the Vols!

But the fun doesn’t stop with athletic events. Throughout the year, the Center for Student Engagement hosts hundreds of events for your entertainment.

The Volunteer experience

The Volunteers—it’s not just our nickname, it’s our way of life. Vols are leaders, change-makers, and innovators. We work to make the communities around us better through giving of our time, talent, and skills.

While at UT, you’ll be equipped with the tools you need to carry the Volunteer spirit into your career and life after graduation. Through programs like Ignite 865, VOLbreaks, and the Volunteer Impact Academy, you’ll learn the true meaning behind lighting the way for others.

Experience campus

Outside the classroom there are so many places to enjoy spending down time. Grab a coffee at Stokely Café, hang out in a hammock in Circle Park, or study at the Humanities Amphitheatre!

Life on campus

Residence halls

Be prepared to make lifelong memories when you come to UT.

Curious to know what our residence halls look like? We have virtual and on-campus tours!

Dining

There are over 30 locations on campus where students can find snacks, meals, and drinks—not to mention the food trucks that stop by campus!

Big Orange Pantry, an on-campus food pantry, also serves our community.

Campus safety

We’re committed to keeping UT a safe campus for everyone.

Between the Safe at UT app and UT alerts, students are always in the know and can access resources quickly.

Wellness

Your health and wellness are important to you, and they’re important to us, too! At UT, you’ll find several ways to be active and invest in your physical and mental health.

RecSports, the Student Health Center, and the Student Counseling Center are just a few of the places you can invest in your wellness!

There’s so much work being done on campus to make sure that every single person matters and belongs here … You’re going to meet people here that are going to make this the experience of a lifetime.
