Examples of Aid Opportunities

Volunteer Scholarship

Awarded to in-state and out-of-state students with stellar high school GPAs and test scores.

To be considered, students must be enrolled at UT immediately following their senior year of high school.

Distinguished Tennessean Scholarship

Awarded to one in-state student from every Tennessee county to apply to tuition and mandatory fees.

This award is renewable for four years.

Tri-Star Scholarship Program

Financial aid program for Tennessee residents that includes the UT Promise Scholarship, Tennessee Pledge Scholarship, and Flagship Scholarship.

Scholarships within the program may be combined with some other UT-funded scholarships.

As a graduate student at UT, you’ll find several resources to help you afford your program. From assistantships and fellowships to scholarships offered by colleges, there are many opportunities for financial aid.

The financial aid that I received here has allowed me to truly excel on Rocky Top. UT opened doors that led me to study abroad in Spain using the scholarships and aid awarded to me.

Online affordability

You can earn a UT degree from anywhere with our accessible and affordable online programs and certifications. Through Vols Online, students are not only eligible for aid and scholarships but are often able to maintain employment while studying. 

Worth your investment

The time you spend at UT will prepare you for what comes next. The future belongs to you, and we’re here to help you claim it! Within six months of graduation, 90 percent of our undergraduate students are employed full time or enrolled in graduate school.
